About Charlotte

Hipsinc. Director, Charlotte Desorgher, is one of the top bellydance teachers in the UK. Her popular weekly classes in Croydon, Crawley and Wallington attract students from all over London and she teaches and performs regularly at major UK festivals and events such as International Bellydance Congress, Fantasia, Celebrating Dance, Egyptian Moonlight and Planet Egypt.

As a dancer Charlotte lights up the stage with her warm, vibrant personality and that warmth extends to her teaching too. Her regular weekly classes take students from their first steps through to performance and professional level and her teaching combines strong, solid technique with a sense of fun.

Charlotte has been dancing since the age of five, training in ballet, jazz and contemporary dance and going on to gain an honours degree in Dance and Education from the London University Institute of Education. She saw her first bellydancer at a nightclub in London in the early 1980s and it changed her life.

Charlotte went on to travel and work in the Middle East where she begged the local women to teach her how to dance. She continued her professional development with world famous names, Hossam and Serena Ramzy and, latterly, Aziza. She also travels regularly to Cairo, home of bellydancing, where she takes lessons with the top dancers there.
